My name is Semanur Karayaka, pronounced seh•MA•noor kuh•ruh•yuh•kuh. I am in my third year as an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. I study journalism (concentrating in visual communication) and computer science. I am Turkish-American.

Growing up, I have always found myself happiest when surrounded by stories. I love to seek out stories in books, classrooms, airports, anywhere really. As time for college applications approached, I realized that I wanted to tell stories too.

My greatest goal is to become a visual communicator, problem solver, and better human overall who uses storytelling to combat human rights violations, aid environmental protection, help businesses grow, spark empathy, joy, and more.
